Donald Trump will announce next Tuesday (15) that he will run for re-election in 2024, his longtime adviser Jason Miller said on Friday (11).
The former president, who will be 78 when the next election rolls around, hinted at another presidential bid while campaigning for Republican candidates in the midterms. He said he would make a “big announcement” in his speech.
“President Trump will announce his run for president on Tuesday,” Miller told former Trump aide Steve Bannon on his popular podcast. War room🇧🇷 “It will be a very professional and relaxed ad,” he added.
The big announcement came after several Trump-backed candidates had disappointing results in the midterm legislative elections.
The long-anticipated Republican “Red Tide” did not materialize, and the party achieved far less success than expected.
Trump’s entry into the race was designed to shield the billionaire from criminal charges. Capital in January 2021.
Another objective was to undermine his main rival for the Republican presidential nomination, Florida Governor Ron DeSantis.
