A Dutch tourist has been detained in Poland for paying homage to a Nazi at a former Auschwitz-Birkenau concentration camp, according to local police.

The unidentified tourist was later accused of being involved in Nazi propaganda. Prosecutors imposed a fine, which she agreed to pay.
According to the BAP news agency, the woman said the act was a joke in bad taste.
She then posed for a photo taken by her husband.
This is not the first time foreigners have been arrested in Poland for promoting Nazi propaganda – up to two years in prison.
In 2013, two Turkish students were sentenced to six months in prison and fined for similar Nazi worship in Auschwitz.
