Between Johannesburg, South Africa and Amsterdam, the Netherlands, a cargo plane hid in the basement and traveled nearly nine thousand kilometers. The announcement was made by the Netherlands Military Police on Sunday (23).

According to Dutch Military Police spokesman John Helmonds, the man was admitted to hospital after being found inside the plane’s front wheel system at Amsterdam-Schiphol Airport. The individual did not reveal his or her identity and nationality.

The man is said to have disappeared shortly before departure in Johannesburg. “He was found alive and was rushed to hospital,” Helmonds said. She is surprised that the person escaped on a journey that lasted an average of 11 hours and the highest altitude and lowest temperature.

Helmonds reiterated that police were investigating with Carcolex Italia, which had rented the plane. “Our main concern is, of course, the health of this man,” he said.

A police spokesman reiterated that it was rare to travel secretly on flights to the Netherlands. According to him, previous attempts were made by citizens of Nigeria or Kenya.

In 2021, Dutch border police found the body of a Nigerian man on the underside of a plane flying into Amsterdam-Schiphol Airport. A year ago, the case of 14-year-old Laurent Barthelemy Anne Quibahi moved to France. The boy, born in C டிte d’Ivoire, died in the wheel system of an Air France flight from Abidjan to Paris.
