The plane was about to land in Bologna, Italy, when it collided with a crane. Some birds were sucked into the right engine of the aircraft, while others collided with the cabin windshield. Ryanair’s FR1194 crashed last Wednesday (11/24).
A video posted on the “Breaking Aviation News” Twitter profile shows a Boeing 787-800 landing with flames. In the photos posted on the same profile, you can see the animal parts attached to the machine.
Although the pilots’ eyesight was affected in the crash by the cranes, the crew landed safely at Guglielmo Marconi International Airport and no one was injured.
According to the English newspaper “The Independent”, bird accidents represent more than $ 1 billion in losses a year and are caused by delays to airlines and generally shortly before landing.
In October, the same airline faced a similar problem: a flight from the UK to the Canary Islands was forced to make an emergency landing after a bird collided with its engine. A spokesman for the company said the plane had landed normally.
