Ortega’s opponent, presidential candidate arrested in Nicaragua | The world

Presidential candidate Nicaragua, Arturo Cruz was detained at the airport in the country’s capital Managua this Saturday (5) after returning from a trip to the United States, according to information provided to Reuters by his team.

The Nicaraguan Ministry of Public Works said the investigation against Cruz was based on “strong evidence that he attacked the Nicaraguan community” but did not give details of what the allegations were.
