According to the US National Hurricane Center (NHC) at 0h GMT on Thursday, Grace recorded 130 winds and 275 km from the city of Libra.
“Grace is expected to bring strong winds and dangerous waves in many parts of the eastern Yucat Peninsula,” the NHC explains. The hurricane is expected to touch the land of Toulom on Thursday morning and move in southwestern Gulf Mexico on Friday evening or early morning. The NHC predicts that the hurricane will intensify before it hits eastern Mexico.

In the state of Quintana Roo, which has the longest beach in the Caribbean and the country’s major tourist attractions, shopkeepers guarded their shop windows, and fishermen and operators kept their boats on land.
The state government has issued orange high risk warnings in five municipalities, including Libra, and yellow and moderate danger warnings in six other places.
It provided protection to the most vulnerable people of the riverside communities in 85 shelters set up by the state Civil Defense Organization.
Grace is estimated to lose power as it crosses the Yucat Peninsula, but strength will return when it hits the southwestern Gulf on Friday.
After crossing the Gulf waters, Grace will touch the ground again on Saturday morning, near the borders of the states of Veracruz and Tamilibas in eastern Mexico.
