Celtics goalkeeper Marcus Smart will miss Tuesday’s clash with the Bucks.
Boston Celtics goalkeeper Marcus Smart has been ruled out of Tuesday’s game 2 . game From the semi-finals of the Eastern Conference with bruising to the right thigh.
Smart was injured Sunday in the Milwaukee Bucks loss at 1 . game. Kia’s Defensive Player of the Year was hit twice in the thigh and briefly left the game after sustaining a right shoulder injury. But he scored 33 minutes in the first match, and finished the match with 10 points and six assists.
Boston coach Im Odoka said Smart has had some swelling, pain and restricted movement over the past two days. It is expected to be ready when the series moves to Milwaukee for Game 3.

“I don’t think it’s long-lasting,” Odoka said. “He’s been beaten up and missed a few matches in the past. With three days off we assume he’ll be fine.”
Smart has been the Celtics’ defensive anchor throughout the 2021-22 season, while also providing a steady attack. He averaged 15.2 points, 6.8 assists, 3.4 rebounds, and 1.4 steals in the playoffs.
Derek White will replace Smart in the starting line-up.
Boston is trailing 1-0 in the Eastern Conference semi-final series against Milwaukee.
