When the group ordered around 2pm the kitchen was out of ceviche and hamburgers. Instead, they were forced to choose a small portion of guacamole for $24, a sad watermelon salad for $18, a mini avocado toast for $18, $18 huevos rancheros, and $32 of grilled prawns with tortillas that Yoon told the newspaper. The Post smelled “weird” and had a texture reminiscent of “carton”.

Other comments are also completely negative, describing the restaurant as a “crypto scam”, “a pretty tasteless place”, “literally a mess”, “very disappointing and overrated”, “obviously a ghost town” and ” Completely meaningless.” In addition to poorly executed and overpriced food and drink, reviewers note that staff members are rude, construction takes place right next to tables and reservations don’t seem to matter even when lots of tables are empty.

Yoon was “extremely frustrated” after his “awful” meal and wandered around the large area after eating trying to decide his next move as the few other tables finished their meals. “No one was dancing,” he said.

Gaetano Island has signed a five-year contract running from Memorial Day through the end of October at their Governors Island location, but we’ll see if they can plan their way through this summer.
