With 323,000 votes cast in the first months of his term, most people in Bahia voted second this year. In 2018, he presented a project to create “Thea Two Hetero”.

Despite the vice-chancellor’s conservative stance, the officer considers himself a staunch supporter President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva (PT). In 2019, he reaped the consequences of a report he sent to former president Jair Bolsonaro (PL) when he offered to speak with authority on behalf of the Chamber due to the loosening of gun laws promoted by the previous government.
