If any of you are in the South Las Vegas area and have some free time over the weekend, and if you’re interested in any type of fighting game you can get your hands on, whether mainstream or indie, then EVO 2018 is for you.
The Evolution Championship Series (EVO) returns this year, for the twentieth year running, as a way of promoting new and popular fighting games, with competitions happening over the two days. The more popular games involved in the competition include Injustice 2, Tekken 7, and Super Smash Bros.
Support Your Local Indies
However, if you do attend the event, then make sure you visit the indie developers who are also making an important appearance this year.
Media Indie Exchange, an organization that’s all about the promotion of indie games and supporting the developer’s work, are making an appearance at this year’s EVO 2018. Along with almost 20 different titles, MIX has planned a showcase with games such as Punch Planet and Mighty Fight Federation, helping to bring these titles to you.
This is the sixth year that MIX has teamed up with EVO to showcase Indie Game developers. Games such as Punch Planet, a science-fiction 2D fighter game, and Bounty Battle are making another appearance after 2017’s showcase. It’s a great way to ask questions, learn more about what indie developers are creating, as well as meeting people in the community.
The event takes place at the Mandalay Bay Events Center in South Las Vegas Boulevard on the 3rd and 4th of August, and if you want to find out more about the event, then make sure to check out the website.
