Biden says he is concerned about China’s hypersonic missiles; Chinese government refuses to test world

Asked by reporters while boarding Air Force One for a trip to Pennsylvania, Biden said he was concerned about Chinese hypersonic missiles.

Hypersonic weapons travel at five times the speed of sound in the atmosphere or at about 6,200 km / h.

The Financial Times reported over the weekend that in August China tested a weapon that flew into space and orbited the world before heading towards a missed target. The Chinese Foreign Ministry has denied the allegations.

The test took place as the United States and its global rivals prepared to develop hypersonic weapons – the next generation of weapons would plunder the enemy’s reaction time and traditional defeat mechanisms.

Hypersonic weapons are a strategic game converter that, as far as we know, has the potential to undermine strategic stability.“Maine Senator Angus King said Monday.

“The United States cannot delay this development or allow blind spots as we monitor the progress of our competitors,” he added.

Spokesman Zhen Zhao told reporters Wednesday that the White House has raised concerns about Chinese diplomatic missile technology through “diplomatic channels.”
