Official autopsy of the body John McAfee He showed up at a prison in Spain where he was awaiting extradition to the United States, El Pas reported Monday, citing unidentified sources who knew of the operation.
A spokesman for the Catalan judicial body responsible for the autopsy said there was no word on the report.
His lawyer, Javier Villalba, said last week that inmates had found the body of a McAfee software tycoon hanging in his cell on Wednesday following what appeared to be a suicide.
On Friday, McAfee’s widow, Janice, said she had asked for a second independent autopsy as soon as the first results were released.
Janice McAfee said she did not believe her husband had committed suicide and blamed U.S. authorities for her death.
McCaffy, who launched the world’s first commercial antivirus program in 1987, was detained at Barcelona airport in October. He ran away from U.S. authorities for many years, traveling in a mega boat.
He was charged in the US state of Tennessee with tax evasion and charged with cryptocurrency fraud in New York.
