According to the NHK Network, a fire broke out on the fourth floor of an office building in the western part of the city around 10:00 am (22:00 GMT) local time.

According to the NHK television network, before the fire broke out, a 60-year-old man was seen carrying a drop bag at the clinic’s reception desk, which investigators heard from those close to him.

The commercial building where the fire broke out has eight floors. The fire, which reached the fourth floor, was immediately brought under control by the fire department, reporters said.

According to the NHK, the other floors of the building adjacent to the main station in downtown Osaka are occupied by a beauty salon, a clothing store and an English school.

In 2019, a fire at an animation studio in Kyoto killed more than 30 people and injured dozens more.
